Juniors at Tay Rowing Club

At Tay Rowing Club, we’re passionate about introducing young people to the sport of rowing. While we don’t yet have a full junior section, we’re actively working towards developing one in the future.

In the meantime, we run a 4-day Junior Summer Camp each year — a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 12–18 to get a taste of rowing in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment.

About the Junior Summer Camp

Our summer camp gives juniors the chance to:

Learn the basics of rowing, both on land and on the water

Build confidence, fitness, and teamwork skills

Enjoy time outdoors on the beautiful River Tay

Make new friends and have fun trying something different

No previous experience is needed — just a willingness to take part and have a go! All sessions are led by experienced rowers and coaches who ensure everyone learns safely and at their own pace.

Rowing is also a great addition to a university or college application, showing commitment, discipline, teamwork, and leadership — qualities that stand out to admissions tutors. Many students go on to join university rowing clubs after getting their first taste of the sport with us.

When and Where

The next Junior Summer Camp will take place in summer 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed).
The camp runs over four consecutive days during the summer holidays, based at our club on Sleepless Inch, Perth (just off Rhynd Road, opposite Willowgate).
